Thursday’s in June

I don’t really know PJ, the beponytailed owner of the Lager House, but I did have a brief conversation with him in the men’s room at LH during the Hard Lesson’s show last weekend.

You see, I had been drinking beer and I had to pee (what’ your excuse for being in there?)  I do not know if PJ had to pee, because he was busy cleaning up a clogged toilet and it never came up.

I said something referencing the joys of bar ownership.

He calmly explained while running his mop through the ringer that there were no solids, all liquids and luckily there was no “puke.”

He then looked up at me while I washed my hands (happy birthday to you…) and said smiling, “You know the Hard Lesson’s were the last band I saw here before I bought the place.”

Here was a man on beautiful Saturday afternoon in rubber gloves cleaning up the mess caused by hipsters who haven’t yet figured out how to use a toilet without breaking it and he couldn’t have been happier.  Stew on that in your grey little cube.

Speaking of the Lager House, every Thursday in June there is going to be a free showcase hosted by Sisters Lucas, Aran Ruth and Kelly Jean Caldwell.

They are dubbing the event June’s Children and of course all the details are up at the Lager House website.

Also, here’s a picture of the ladies in question by Doug Coombe.

Ladies!

This is exactly what creepy dudes see when they try to check these ladies out through their dirty cracked black plastic frames.
