Were Peaches and Herb Right?
Does it in fact, “feel so good?”
Considering Herb has performed with 6 different Peaches over the years and the original one is dead, he may not be the leading expert on the emotional impact of reuniting.
But with Pavement fans hoping their one off turns them at least into a touring act a la the Pixies and or even a real band again a la Dinosaur jr. — it seems fitting to ask who should get back together again.
Led Zeppelin — Page and John Paul Jones always seem game… but since they practiced for months to play that Ahmet Ertegün show and failed to tour, I’d say it is not happening.
Pink Floyd — I can’t explain why Richard Wright’s death has me less interested to see the other 3 tour, considering how good their ‘90’s shows were without Waters, but that’s my take.
Husker Du — Last I heard the band had pending lawsuits against each other and SST. So you will never hear them play “I’m Never Talking to You Again.” In other news, Greg Norton still appears to have that mustache.
Talking Heads — According to David Byrne this will never, ever, ever happen… pitty.
The Smiths — Litigious Mike Joyce has Marr and Morrissey saying they have no interest in a reunion… I tend to believe Morrissey can hold a grudge.
Soundgarden — Is this happening? It seems like it’s happening — but then I think Ben Sheppard said it wasn’t… but then bassists are usually the last to know. I think this would make a lot of money, crossing over a large swath of Creed/Nickleback fans and also people who like music.
Smashing Pumpkins — Billy treats this band like a light switch… I stopped paying close attention in about ‘96.
Stone Roses — This surfaced earlier this year with the remaster of the debut album, but doesn’t seem active on the rumor boards much these days. Even if Ian Brown can’t really sing, I think I’d be the most excited to see them as anyone apart from Zeppelin on this list. Squire, now a painter has famously said, “Music is a young man’s game,” he might be right to leave this alone.
The Strokes — Hopefully after Julian releases his solo project? Wishful thinking at best I’m sure.
Who am I missing?
