Through out most of 1912-13 the federal government tried to negotiate with relocated Pottawatomie to force them to take back Ohio.
It was decided that two Native America runners, Tewanima and Arquetta would compete with the entire city of Cleveland (pictured here) in a foot race.  The loser would have to take full title to the vast, dismal expanse of Ohio.
As most of you have by now realized the Pottawatomie won.
