Where did the last 6 years go? Elliott Smith was one of the people who’s talent made me truly enthusiastic for music. While I try not to be very nostalgic or worse yet some kind of gothic-romantic about these kind of things, I am very sentimental about his music. I’m firmly a notes over words guy and while Elliott could embed darkly clever little phrases in his songs, it was his effortless melodies that still leave me in awe. His struggles with himself were so well known, that it was hard to be surprised when he was gone, but I still wish he wasn’t. I’ll also encourage you to think about making a donation here to help others who can’t see the hope in themselves that’s sometimes so obvious to other people.
